Volunteer Options
PARENT TEACHER CLUB - PTC
This group of parents and teachers supports school functions and also approves funding for classroom events and special needs. The Parent Teacher Club's purpose is to encourage and support:
- Staff by helping enhance and supplement curriculum and instruction.
- Promotion of effective communication and involvement between school, home and community.
- Parents and the community in working successfully with the school to promote growth in the students academically, socially and behaviorally.
- Sense of community between school families.
SITE-BASED LEADERSHIP TEAM - SBLT
The Site Based Leadership Team (SBLT) is an elected group representing parents, classified personnel, teachers, and administration. The SBLT oversees programs that aim to provide each student a safe, nurturing environment in which to grow academically, personally, and socially. Together, members discuss First Street School goals for student achievement, and approve certain expenditures to reach these goals.
